Patrick Krechowski
Coastal Policy Advisor

altMr. Krechowski is a legal expert on coastal construction law, environmental resource permitting and compliance, consumptive use permitting and compliance, water use planning, and land use law in the state of Florida. He was formerly an associate at a statewide, boutique environmental/administrative law firm before starting his own practice in 2008.

Prior to joining the private sector, he served as an Assistant General Counsel with the St. Johns River Water Management District where he handled comprehensive regulatory matters including administrative and civil litigation, and water supply issues. In addition to working for the Water Management District, Mr. Krechowski served as the Program Attorney for the State of Florida, Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Beaches and Coastal Systems. In that capacity he handled all legal matters for the program that occurred seaward of the Coastal Construction Control Line on the various sandy beaches of the State, including rule making, enforcement litigation, beach renourishment standards, and coastal construction permitting.

Mr. Krechowski also has extensive appellate experience as he held the position of Assistant Attorney General with the State of Florida, Office of the Attorney General, Criminal Appeals Division for four years. Patrick is a member of the Florida Bar Association (Environmental & Land Use Law and Administrative Law Sections), the Jacksonville Bar Association, the Florida Shore and Beach Preservation Association, the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association, the St. Augustine Historical Society, The Wounded Warrior Project, and International Rotary. He earned his B.S. degree in criminal justice from Florida State University and J.D. degree from Nova Southeastern University.
