
Mayor Harry Simmons is a senior consultant for Marlowe & Company, specializing in business development and local representation of Marlowe & Company clients in the Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia region.
Mayor Simmons is in his eighth year as Mayor of the Town of Caswell Beach, North Carolina. He recently completed 4 years as a member of the Board of Directors for the NC League of Municipalities, has served on the National League of Cities Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Policy Committee and is currently a Coastal Cities member of North Carolina’s Coastal Resources Advisory Council.
Mayor Simmons is also in his fourth year as President of the 80+ year old American Shore & Beach Preservation Association and was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the much younger Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway Association. Mayor Simmons is a regular visitor to the halls of Congress where he has testified on coastal infrastructure and policy issues.
Before undertaking government service, Simmons owned a music business firm, Simmons Management Group, for over 20 years. He was primarily involved with managing the careers of record producers. His producer clients were directly responsible for creating recording projects by such well-known artists as R.E.M., Hootie & the Blowfish, Counting Crows, Kim Carnes and Joe Cocker among many others. Simmons is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences which gives him a vote for the music industry’s prestigious Grammy Awards each year.
A North Carolina native and lifelong resident, Harry Simmons earned his BS in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
